Archery at Club Med - The two archery
centers (for kids and grownups) in Club
Med are near the tennis center. It includes court use
(many courts, some lit at night), and lessons at certain
times; guests can also book private lessons.
Whale watching and other water activities
- Several outings on the water depart right from the resort
(for an extra charge): snorkeling on a nearby coral reef;
scuba; and whale-watching, if the season's right. January
through March, Humpback whales return to these warm Caribbean
waters to mate and breed. Make sure your kids understand
that sighting wildlife can never be guaranteed; but the
whales are plentiful in the area, and often you'll have
a good chance of viewing.
Golfing in Punta Cana - There are six
courses in operation the area. El Golf de Bavaro 18 holes
par 72 (Barcelo hotels), Cocotal
27 holes par 72 (Melia hotels), Punta Cana Golf (Club
Med, Punta Cana Resort & Club, Cabeza de Toro Golf (Catalonia
Resort), White Sands Golf (Blue Ocean resort), Punta Espada
Golf (Cap Cana).
Dolphin
Island - Snorkel With Dolphins is the newest and most
popular activity in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. A large
floating platform in the ocean just off the beach at the
Barcelo Beach Resort Hotel, makes an enclosure that is great
for the dolphins.
